Blue skies

Spent my day at the park with friends. Sunny day. Perfect wind for kite-flying and clothes drying. Picked myself some wildflowers. Sat in the middle of a meadow. Listened to the wind. Days like this don't happen often enough for me right now.

Lazy days

The summer heat has set in. Summer is always the most difficult season for me to navigate. I try not to be too hard on myself, to just take it easy. These days are all about rest for me. Working on my long-neglected art. Posing outside the ROM at midnight. Catching up on tv shows I have been meaning to watch. Making fermented teas. Getting only the bare minimum of work done so I can spend the rest of my day sipping water and lemonade with a good book.

Each day is cool and clear

I do love Autumn. It's such a glorious combination of crisp weather and sensibly warm clothing. Everyday is cold, but not too cold. Most nights are deliciously cozy beneath a warm duvet. I relish the opportunity to bundle up under layers of clothes and bask in the warmth of the sun. Wool socks, wrist warmers and thick scarves beckon to be worn. I could live like this all year! After too much time spent commuting for hours upon end with previous work, my current job only requires a few minutes of walking each day. l love it!

Sewing class: Project #1

I decided a few weeks ago to start the Fashion Design program at Algonquin College. The only pre-requisite for the night courses is a sewing class that began two weeks ago. So far, it has been really fun! I was unsure about being in a single class all day, but the time flies, and I am learning new techniques each class.

Our first assignment is to make a pair of pyjama pants for ourselves. I bought a cornflower blue floral print cotton that was on sale, and it is washed and ready to be ironed...

Ch-ch-changes!

More on that later...
